What's the best way to remove a really tough sticker?

As you can see, I’ve tried to get rid of that UGA sticker in the middle of my hatch, (my grandpa got it when my cousin was going there, but I’ve never been and I don’t follow football either) but it’s next to impossible. I used a hell of a lot of Goo-Gone and my dad scraped it with a steak knife (which kind of damaged the paint, but didn’t do anything for the sticker) and it just won’t budge. It’s made of reflective tape and the adhesive seems to be everything-proof...

I also need to get rid of my Konami sticker, as it’s unfortunately solid white now... No idea how the red heart above it survived the sun and heat while this one didn’t, since they came from the same company, but oh well. That one should be fine with Goo-Gone, but I’m kind of worried about the other two stickers right by it.

(Also, just looking at the picture.... I’m not going to do this any time soon, but how do you think the panel below the reflector would look in flat black? Looks like it could actually be pretty badass.)

Hair dryer.

Sandpaper off the surface then use Goof-off (the kerosene based ‘professional’ kind or whatever it’s called that comes in aerosol cans, not the Goo-gone equivalent that comes in pump spray bottles). Haven’t had a sticker that beat that yet including the heat sealed airbag warnings on visors that are nearly impossible to remove.

I’ve tried that as well, actually. I think the adhesive is chemically bonded to the paint or something. Maybe a hair dryer and a razor blade will do the trick, but I dunno. It’s crazy how strong the thing is holding on.

Have you tried using gasoline or nail-polish remover/acetone?

The key is to get a corner pulled up, then point the hair dryer behind it, while pulling slowly.

Heat gun to get it soft, razor blade to get it started and some gasoline/kerosene to keep it going. Be quick with the heat gun though. Maybe even score it with the razor blade and work from the middle outwards. That way you’re not taking a blade straight to the paint.

Also, fuck Konami.

Don’t listen to the majority of suggestions here.

Get one of these http://www.amazon.com/AES-Industries…

It’s almost 100% safe. Use one almost daily at work in a body shop. Had an issue once cause of a bad respray. Paint was really soft after getting painted.
